Progress - Week of June 29

Work continues albeit at a less noticeable pace. Besides the work taking place inside the project, we are spending a lot of time behind the scenes finalizing lighting and hardware and putting in orders for other finish materials.

First, the container arrived Tuesday and the parlor is once again free of detritus for at least another few weeks. Hurray! More landfill!

Good thing we moved out the garbage because the base mouldings and window and door casings arrived. The white oak order was also delivered and is partially installed. The attic is pretty much done...

Also, the wood restoration is moving. The entry doors from the vestibule are looking better with each passing day. Depending upon the condition, we will either repaint the wood or (hopefully) stain the wood in a darker, mahogany finish to conceal some of the imperfections left in the wood given the paint stripping and decades of neglect.

The plumber has run the pex tubing for the hot water to the radiators.

Also, the rear door leading off the new kitchen was installed.

On tap for this week: the last of the structural work in the rental and the kitchen, finish the installation of the white oak floors, framing out of the master bathroom.
